The sound drivers say it is working properly and nothing is muted but the sound is not working. It is a new laptop and only two months old so what do I do?

    Hi:

A recent Windows Update caused the audio to quit working on many newer model HP notebooks.

See if this link is of any help to you to get the sound to work again.    That would be the only suggestion I can offer.

There is nothing there. And if you're going to tell me you escalated it, you all just use RESET YOUR OS as a crutch. Not doing that. Thanks.

    Thanks for keeping me posted

Was the voice low during the Diagnostic Test?

If that is the case, please follow the instructions I have sent you in a private message

Hi, I am having the same issue with my HP Pavilion x360 convertible 14-cd00008na. I had a look at my updates but it says that the HP Extension 1.0.039 failed. Neither my earphone jack or input speakers are working

  • Thank you
the problem is not in the sound coming out of the speakers that is fine but when I use the microphones that are next to the camera. When I play a video and listen to my voice, the voice is low even if I raise the recording volume to the maximum. The tests you have recommended me are all ok. But if I have to hear my voice when I record a video I get a sore throat!
    thank you

  • 10/20/18--12:37: HP Spectre Headphone Jack
  • Until last week I was able to plug in my Beats headphones into the headphone jack and my speakers worked as well. After my trip back from San Francisco I can no longer plug them in all the way and my speakers produce no sound at all. Looking inside the port I can see a black piece preventing me from plugging in something like a dust cover. Is this an update gone wrong and what do I do to correct this??? I reinstalled and updated all the sound drivers as well.

Currently, I am unable to play music/watch videos or any other function that requires the use of my laptop's sound system, because every time I do the audio is distorted beyond comprehension, it crackles loudly and emits a very loud, very high-pitched whining sound. When I mute my laptop, it takes a few seconds for the high-pitched whining to die down.

I purchased my laptop in June 2018 and I have experienced some issues with the audio before, but this is the first time that I have not been able to resolve it myself.

This is very annoying! I greatly appreciate any suggestions you can provide me to help me resolve this issue!

  • After i use my bluetooth headphones my laptop speaker wont work. When the sound goes it's as if I have no speakers there isn't any bar indication on the volume at all, unlike when you test it with a system sound and there is that green gague.

I tried to disconnect the bluetooth device and everything....
