Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, you're having issues connecting devices via Bluetooth on your notebook,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

Have you tried connecting different Bluetooth devices?

When was the last time it worked fine?

Have you made any hardware/software changes?

Here are a few things you could try:

You could refer to this article for troubleshooting steps: Click here

Step 1: Confirm your computer has Bluetooth

Step 2: Make sure the Bluetooth signal is on

Step 3: Remove any wireless interference

Step 4: Restart the device and computer

Step 5: Check the wireless communication settings

Step 6: Check for a Bluetooth driver update

Step 7: Uninstall the Bluetooth device, and then pair it

For more information on connecting a Bluetooth device, you could refer to this article:Click here

Audio equalization controls for external speakers/headphones

I just bought an ENVY x360 with Bang and Olufsen internal speakers. I'm replacing an older Dell. I want to customize the audio equalization (tone control) for my external speakers (plugged into headphine jack) like i could with the Dell.  I found the control for the internal speakers but when I click on external, the  options gray out and are not operable.   If not available with original software, are there downloadable programs that can do the job? Thank you.

I have had the same problem with an ACER netbook. No help from the company. These companies are stinky in my opinion re. their responsiveness. But that includes my experiences with Samsung and Windows 10 team for other issues I've had.

Excuse me, but why was my reply to this deleted?

I wrote a lenghty message explaining that no Realtek driver works for my laptop on Windows 1809, and other forgotten customers should know that also!

I am hoping HP will adress that and release a working driver for Windows 10 1809, next to 1709 and 1803 it already offers.

Goran

Since the October update of Windows, the laptop (ProBook 650G2) does not output sound to the sound projector in vain. I tried to work with a phone. Trying to use another Hp250 laptop is not good, but a Lenovo laptop goes right away. Would you be interested in having a similar problem and solving the problem? I've been trying to find solutions for weeks: Updating or removing Bios update driver but nothing.

Hi,

I have the same issue also with the Elitebook 840 G5 and the Slimline Dock.

Before I had a Elitebook Folio 9480m used in the same dock and all was perfect. So I guess it is not the dock alone that causes the problem.

The connected speaker is a Sony SRS-X3, which is connected through audio cable. With this setup I experidnce quite a bit of noise on top of the audio signal if I plug in the speaker into the dock. If I plug in the the speaker directly to the Elitebook, the noise is gone.

best regards, Jörg

What steps have you already taken?

Make sound unmute automatically when plugging in headphones?

Primary issue has been ongoing since I received this laptop from my employer. With previous Lenovo T440 (or 450, I forget), audio would automatically unmute when plugging in headphones and automatically mute when unplugging headphones.

I have not found a way to replicate this behavior on the Elitebook 840 G3. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Currently, I just get an unhelpful notification that an audio device has been plugged in or unplugged, but it does not actually do anything else. I would love it if I could regain this functionality from my previous laptop.

Hi,

unfortunately with an other account, it doesn't work. I'll procede with the reset (do you suggest with removing everything or not?)

thanks,

It looks like you were interacting with , but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.

Download the HPSA from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/pl_ot_ob_ds_pd/hpsupportassistant_cc/dt

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Keep me posted

I went into device manager and clicked sound, and go to all the ones under it but none of them had SST after it. I clicked on both of the real audio ones and they both said they were running properly and up to date. And my sound still doesn't work.

Instead of sound, go to System Devices from within the device manager. It was here that I found the bad drives. When you uninstall,  make sure to delete them from storage as well by checking the box that says to do so. Otherwise, they will just reinstall again with the fresh reboot. Once you delete the bad drives search for hardware changes under the action tab.

Also, look for any drivers that are not working or have yellow error signs on them.  Some of these drivers look like they are completely unrelated to your sound but they are and if they are corrupted they could be causing the audio issue.

[SOLVED]  Hello. Friendly Neighborhood Joe-Schmo Tech Here.  I downloaded the driver from the HP Support website, using the exact model number from the computer.  I installed the driver by using (right click, properties, compatibility tab, Windows 8 compatibility mode as it was the most recent available). I reset the computer.  No sound was coming out.  I opened the beats audio control panel (using the quick menu next to the battery icon), clicked "advanced settings", clicked the "Reset" button under the Default Settings, clicked the "launch" button for Windows Sound Properties, under the "Playback" tab I clicked over to "Communication Headphones" and clicked the "Set Default" button, then I clicked the "Speaker / HP IDT High Def Audio Codec Default Device" and clicked the "Set Default" button again to change it back to speakers from headphones.  I'm not sure if the switching of the defaults on the last step helped, but I put it in here because I'm not going to start all over to find out if it was for naught.  Model HP Envy Touchsmart m7. Model No.: m7-j020dx

I Hope this helps.  Cheers.

An audio driver for 350 G1?

$

Just few days ago my laptop had SSD installed and after first use I noticed my laptop is missing the audio driver.

I cannot find the driver from HP's page, is there any way to get the missing driver? My laptop isn't that old and is running nicely.

There must be a solution for this. Why haven't HP updated the audio driver for win10?

Already tried to install the win8 driver but the installation got reseted as it doesn't support win10.

Is there anything to do?

Hi:

I have a 350 G1 and had the same issue as you.

Here is a W10 IDT driver I found that works very well.  Install and restart the PC.

6.10.6492.0 Rev.A

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71886.exe

Now, when I installed it, I had no sound out of the onboard speakers.

For some strange reason, this driver sets the headphones as the default.

So, after you install the driver, go to the windows control panel>hardware and sound>sound>manage audio devices, and set the PC speakers as the default.

Then the sound should be working loud and clear.

One other thing...it installs the DTS program, but when I click on it, nothing happens.

I found that minor glitch to be of no major drawback.  The sound works fine without any adjustments.

If System Restore has been enabled, we can try a System Restore to an earlier time before this issue started

- Select the Start button, type control panel and then choose it from the list of results.
- Search Control Panel for Recovery.
- Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
- Choose the restore point prior to the start of the issue and then select Next > Finish.

If the issue persists, please perform a Reset. You can follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289

Let me know if the issue persists.
