Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the audio enhancements are not working.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

While you respond to that, I recommend you uninstall the audio driver from device manager and then download and install it from the below link.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Uninstall:

  1. Start Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Device Manager.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution.Your feedback counts!

Hello and good morning.

I have a zBook 15 G5 and the HP Thunderbolt G2 Dock and the same problem with the Firmware update.

I have the optional Audio module.

Is there any possiblity to get a Firmware that is running?

I tested it on 2 different zBooks and it is the same error on both.

Thanks for the suggestion. In fact was an update what made the audio not work. I hope the next update will fix it. So far, the issue remains unresolved.

Any help highly appreciated

System Speaker As A Musical Instrument

I would like to use my laptop's system speaker for my digital piano (a device that makes annoying beeps from when the battery is low or the BIOS menu is wrong or the shortcut key is too pressed) (I want to add a new sound to my digital piano). If you talk about the bleeper Music Maker, it beeps from the normal speaker (Windows Beeps). I used the BeepXP64 software (German-made software to beep) to make the beep sound from the system speaker, but no beeps were heard. I used bawami, the sound is completely normal speaker when you activate PC speaker. What should I do to use the system speaker to add sound to the digital piano? (Bleeper music maker works smoothly, I just want to beep from the system speaker.) 🎹💻🔊

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you run an Audio Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Audio

If the Audio Test pass, then download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/pl_ot_ob_ds_pd/hpsupportassistant_cc/dt

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Check if the issue persists. Keep me posted

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

@krazytoad

Thank you, I did all of the steps you asked me to, but unfortunately from the 2 speakers on top still doesn't come out any sound. The first audio test to check the hardware functionality worked fine, the HP support assistant did not find any issue and even after updating windows and restarting the computer the issue is still there...

Audio Delay and Sleep / Power problems

$

Hello. Briefly, there are 2 issues i've had since i've bought this laptop and i've put in thorough research and effort but had no permanent solutions. I love this laptop and the deal that i bought it for but there are these 2 issues that really ruin the user experience here.

The first issue is that the power / sleep settings literally dont work. This laptop always reverts to sleep mode if you leave the computer inactive for around 2 minutes (i've timed it). it seems to be temporarily resolved by either powering on/off or leaving it plugged in, but those are only temporary solutions. It always reverts back to sleep mode after 2min, regardless of what the power options / advanced settings state. i mean this literally; every setting can say "sleep after 30min" and it will still go into sleep mode after 2min. i've did extensive research and trouble shooting and trial and error, and it truly seems like there's no way around this.

The second issue is even more annoying, if not infuriating at times, and it honestly seems to be just as unresolvable as the fist issue. Simply put, there is a 3-4 second delay in all audio playback. Take note that i almost exclusively use the headphone jack to external speakers. The only time there is no delay is when i have a less than 30 second gap between audio output/playback. if you have around a 30sec gap/rest or longer between playing any audio, then the first 3-4 second of that new-playing audio will be mute. I can watch hours of videos, then i pause for around 30 seconds and when i resume playing the audio is completely mute for the fist 3-4 seconds of playback. Again, i've done extensive research and trials with different audio drivers but none of them resulted in a permanent solution. the best result i've had is to switch from the Realtek audio drive to an old Windows audio driver, and that actually worked for a while but now, after a recent Windows update i am no longer able to use those windows audio drivers.

So, to reiterate... i have no control over my power/ sleep settings, and there is an almost constant few-second audio playback delay. i want to love this laptop and i did at first; great specs at a great price, fits all my needs, and looks good too.... But really... some of the most basic, essential features -audio playback and sleep settings- literally dont work and have never worked (outside of a complicated temporary solution that isn't even available anymore)... i know this isn't any single persons fault, im sure there's just some obscure incompatibility somewhere, but regardless... Using this computer has been a reoccurring inconvenience on a normal day and a true disappointment on a bad day.
All I can say at this point is that I really hope you or tech support or the HP company can resolve this.

Thank you, in advance.
