I came across your post about the Bluetooth issue, and wanted to help!
Based on the following guide, here is all the information about the compatible WLAN Modules for your notebook:
HP ENVY m6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide (Chapter 1, Page 6).
Support for the following WLAN formats:
● Atheros 9485GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 3012 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter
● Atheros WB225 802.11b/g/n 1×1 Bluetooth Combo Adapter
● Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter
● Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 WLAN module
● Mediatek MT7630E 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter and Mediatek Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter
● Ralink RT5390R 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter
● Ralink RT3290LE 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 690020-001 Atheros AR9565 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter
● Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 WLAN module for use only in Japan
If you are having trouble connecting your external device, then you may need to get the codec from them, for that device. Or you can try using an dongle.
