Problem with my audio

$

I have an HP laptop with Beats' speakers.

I also found out that I have Beats Audio software on my laptop.

I use Realtek High Definition Audio driver, but when I installed it first time the sound was fine and clear.

Later on, it became some kind of "distorted", and I think it's because of Beats Audio software.

I've read alot of solutions, but they don't work for me.

The sound is terrible and it's driving me crazy, so please help!

I have a Pavilion 15 L3S53EA.

Should I install audio driver?

I have a fresh installation of Windows 10. Should I install the HP Omen driver for audio? Or the standard Windows driver is enough for high quality sound?

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

I read your post about your recent audio quality problems in Win10 and wanted to help.

Anytime someone comes here running Win10 and complains about something suddenly not working, I immediately suspect Windows Driver updates.

Unfortunately, Win10 automatically forces driver updates on all of us, without our knowledge, and without our permission -- and when this happens, a working PC is suddenly "broken".  This might have happened to you.

You need to go into Settings, Update & Security --> Windows Update.

Then, choose Advanced Options --> History to see when updates were last applied.  If you see any that include device drivers, those could be the problem. So, if you can, you should see if you can rollback the drivers that are causing the problem.  You do this by going into Device Manager, seeing if the appropriate device is still listed, and if so, trying to rollback the last driver update.

And if that fixes the problem, then consider disabling future driver updates using the information in the link:  http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/15989-device-driver-automatic-installation-turn-off-windows-10-a.html

Good Luck

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

I read your post about installing the HP audio driver and wanted to help.

With video drivers, this is a simple question with a simple answer -- install ONLY the HP drivers.

But with audio, it's more complicated because the laptops tend to use generic audio chipsets, most often Realtek audio.

If there are HP Win10 audio drivers, then what I recommend is the following:

1) Backup the existing audio drivers:  download and install DriverBackup and use that to save off the existing audio  drivers

2) Download and install the HP audio drivers

3) If the results are better audio, then you're done; otherwise, use DriverBackup to restore the previous drivers.

You can get DriverBackup from here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/driverbackup.html

Good Luck

I understand that you are having an issue with the sound, and wanted to assist you!

First, try right clicking each of those drivers, and see if you can update them.  Then restart the notebook a couple of times.  If you are still having trouble, try restoring the BIOS, so that the system will check the hardware.  You can use this document to help you, if needed:

Haven't found any updates on my devices that might cause the problem :/

Nothing connected to audio, just some AMD and Win 10 updates.

I came across your post about the Bluetooth issue, and wanted to help!

Based on the following guide, here is all the information about the compatible WLAN Modules for your notebook:

HP ENVY m6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide (Chapter 1, Page 6).

Support for the following WLAN formats:

● Atheros 9485GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 3012 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter

● Atheros WB225 802.11b/g/n 1×1 Bluetooth Combo Adapter

● Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter

If you are having trouble connecting your external device, then you may need to get the codec from them, for that device.  Or you can try using an dongle.

OK, so here's the drivers and software HP support page for your PC:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-15-p200-notebook-pc-series/7486459/model/7709455#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2

I would download and install the Audio driver.

Re: STEREO MIX ADJUSTMENT LEVELS

Recording adjustments that are made in Audacity are automatically reflected in the stereo mix sliding scale adjustments in B & O Play.  So, when using Audacity one does not have to be concerned with making stereo mix adjustments.

Hey,

What happened with the Windows Troubleshooter?

What did the troubleshooter say?

What does the sound properties window look like?

Does the HDMI Output show up there?

Could you take a screenshot for me please?

Has the HDMI ever worked on this Notebook?

What happened when you:

  • Click the Start button,
  • Type sound in the Search field
  • Select Sound from the list.
  • On the  Playback tab
  • Select the  HDMI audio device,
  • Click Set Default,
  • Click OK.

There is another newer BIOS update. The update download is sp75141.exe. You could try to update the BIOS.

If that does not work, have you tried to do a system restore back to a time when the HDMI was working fine for you.

Please let me know!

Thanks!

Headphones and speakers play together

I have an HP 550 laptop running Win XP SP3. I use the headphones most of the time. Recently I found that when I plug the headphones in, the speakers keep playing and there seems to be no option anywhere to turn them off. The volume control only lists a single wave output device and Device Manager has no option or tab which differentiates between speakers and headphones. After 10 minutes of chasing my tail on the HP customer support site, which demanded an "SKU" (no description of same or information on where to find it, the link just goes back to the main support page and I'm having to start over from scratch picking my device type), or a product number and which wouldn't accept the P/N I entered ("more than 500 hits, please narrow the search" and back to the beginning we go yet again) - bearing in mind that I'm having to turn a plugged in, running laptop upside-down in order to find the label on the bottom of the machine, while I'm currently online and on the HP website trying to get help on the issue - I gave up looking for a BIOS update. My question is this: Is there any solution to the problem other than sending the machine in for repairs? And if there is a BIOS update, is there a direct link that doesn't involve surfing in circles on the HP support site, which seems to have been deliberately coded with the single purpose of driving innocent people insane?
Thanks.

BT audio issues

I recently purchased a pair of Bose soundlink BT headphone. Paired them up and starting using the. Over the weekend my laptop updated windows and now I cannot play music though my Bose, I can only use them for the communication feature.

It pairs up fine but when I try to play music it will not allow me to connect that feature.

Does anyone have any idea why this is. I'm looking for previous gen of driver so I can uninstall the newest and go back the last gen driver.

All I can tell is that it is a Intel BT device on this PC

Thanks a lot. It seems like a solution for me so far.

What I've noticed ever since I've installed this driver, is that I hear audio pops from time to time. Anybody experienced this as well? Is there a solution found for this already?

Thanks in advance for the response.

it seems like a hardware issue, i don't think updating drivers can help, i've tried so many of those "solutions", nothing works. Only when I press on the speaker from the outside the buzzing sound dissapears, as if the speaker is not attached well.  And HP troubleshooters were unable to detect any issue, its a kindergarten
