Re: Reinstalling Beats Audio After Clean Install of Windows 10

Hi Panosk, have you looked at the AMD site?
If you haven’t tried it yet, then go the link below and in the section “Automatically Detect and Install Your Driver”, click “DOWNLOD NOW” and install the auto detector and run it. There is no harm in running it as it will let you know if your computer doesn’t have any “eligible” drivers. I hope this helps. PLEASE click on the purple “thumbs ups” icon on any previous or future correspondence with me Thanks, Veliko

I have went through 2 RMA's. No solution in sight. The worker's there have absolutelly no influence to impact the issue whatsoever, they can only replace the motherboard with identical one, which of course carries the same audio curse.

This is not how a respectable manufacturer acts, ignoring all the facts and complaints, with almost 2 years and still no fix for this issue.

I will never purchase another HP product, unless I do a full feature and issue sweep. Their management is clearly broken, if an issue slips past the testing in development of the product, that's it! They don't fix products that they have sold to consumers, only focus on getting money for the next project.

Thanks for your help. I am sure that there is no problem with the driver and software because even after reinstallation and update the problem still persists. I think that there is problem with the jack connector. I live in Nepal and Nepal is not listed in the country selection on HP Support link that you have mentioned. If I were to change the hardware where should I contact in Nepal and how much will it cost to replace that particular hardware?

Hi Two Pies, I posted this solution a long time ago. It has nothing to do with the port or the cables, this is strictly a driver issue. The challenge with PCs is that since they are so easy to customize, there is no uniform standard so every manufacturer puts out different configurations and BIOS settings and Microsoft simply cannot accomodate all of the potential driver conflicts across all of these platforms. Most of us who are PC users simply have to troubleshoot and hack our way half of the time. That's why many people today use Apple because they are supposed to be less complex and you cut down on these sort of driver incompatibility issues. So far HP has been a good experience overall compared with Dell, Compaq, Acer, or Sony computers I've had in the past. Certainly not the worst you can do. BTW Argos and these lot are totally daft and useless when it comes to being knowledgable about PCs, in my opinion anyways.

Hi,

Try the following.

Download the Realtek HD Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp77501-78000/sp77717.exe

When done, hold down the Windows key and press R

Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.

In Device Manager, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the Realtek device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.

Next, download and reinstall the HP System Event Utility on the link below.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76001-76500/sp76383.exe

When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76501-77000/sp76609.exe

When the Chipset reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click on the Realtek installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let windows fully load for a few minutes before checking.

My last laptop was a Dell but the hard-drive packed in three weeks ago. The operating system was windows 7 and it recognised the HDMI Port and this could be set as the default sound device for output sound in the sound section of control panel. Now Windows 10 doesn't recognise the HDMI Port therefore when you play sound from your computer into an external device with an input HDMI Port you have to be quick to click on the receiving device when the computer recognises it and shows it in the devices menu but, it's only fleeting. It would be much better if some bright spark could write a sub-routine to allow the HDMI Port to be permanently shown in the sound menu with the facility of setting the default output device, either computer speaker's, headphones or HDMI.

Hi,

Can you post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of your notebook - you can usually get this by holding down the fn key and pressing esc, otherwise see Here for a guide on locating this information.

My audio keeps disappearing

I bought the latest Spectre X360 with the 7th generation Core i7 a few days ago, and suddenly I lost my audio. When I put my cursor over the speaker icon, it said "no audio devices installed. I did the trouble shooting steps, rebooted and nothing.  I called HP tech support, and we went trough all sorts of things. Finally I turned it off, held the power button then tapped on escape over and over, and I finally got to component tests. I did the audio test, it passed, I rebooted, and the audio was back. Still, I decided this was too much for a four day old pc, so I went back to Best Buy, and exchanged it for another. It happened again on the new one, so I went straight to the component test, and got the audio back. Is there so way to keep it from happening. I have the original Spectre X360, and it didn't happen on that one. I might have to return this for good.

Sounds

The sounds of my laptop became pretty bad. It wasnt like before, the sounds started having like vibrations and echos and  unnecessary sounds to the point i cant understand it anymore. I was listening to music and the sounds was still okay until i turned off the laptop and after few hours, when i opened it and was about to watch some videos, the sounds changed just like as i mentioned, it started having vibrations and whatsovever. It sounds fine when I put my earphones on so i guess the problem is the laptop speaker itself.

Please help me, how can i fix this? I already tried lot of methods like disabling the enhancements, checking for drive updates (it was up to date)  changing my playback devices. Please help me fix this

Have you tried the new driver? It fixes the crackling for me. You might have to prevent Windows from replacing it by hiding the driver "update" after installing the new, fixed version.

HP PAVILION G6 NOTEBOOK PC - Sound Not Working Properly, 'Crackling'

Hiya,

The laptop was having serious issues, so I nuked it and reformatted the drive, and reinstalled  Windows 7 64bit. I've downloaded the drivers from here for audio - http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-g6-1200-notebook-pc-series/5145704/model/5197302#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2 I was unsure which was what I wanted for the sound itself for the speakers, so I downloaded each, uninstalled the previous until I got some kind of result, the one that gave me a result was 'IDT High Definition CODEC'. When I click test on playback, sometimes it plays nothing, but other times parts of the chime will play and cut out, in a sort of crackle. Youtube videos don't seem to want to play either, so the drivers itself seems to have installed, but obviously it isn't working as intended, so I'm stumped on how to fix it. Some help would be much apprechiated.

Since I'm from a tech background, I think its in my best interest to give the same sort of help that I'd like to see when I google these issues.

Thank you so much to @Dvortex who in a different thread gave this advice, which completely fixed my problem. I hope this helps anyone that comes across this.

Go to device manager (You can give a right click on windows logo on bottom left corner of your screen and select device manager from the list)

Now maximize the “Sound, video and game controllers” from the list. You will see the audio driver. Right-click on “IDT high definition audio CODEC” / “Realtek audio CODEC” and select “Update driver software”.

Select “Browse my computer for driver software” – Select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.

Select “High Definition Audio Device” (Not IDT High Def... or Realtek High def… This is important) and click Next. You will get a warning message but reply “Yes”.

Once windows have successfully updated the driver software, try playing the audio again and check.
