Hello Lisa,
Thank you for your reply. I saw both of your cited posts, but none solved my problem.
I`ve done both troubleshooters (Recording and playing audio).
The two identified a problem and offered a fix.
However, they were unable to fix the problem.
Apparently what they`ve reinstalled the device driver, but I`m not sure.
The troubleshooting report delivered the following information on both times:
Recording Audio
Issues Found:
High Definition Audio Device has a driver problem Not fixed
There is a problem with the driver for High Definition Audio Device. The driver needs to be reinstalled.
Check audio device Detected
There might be a problem with your audio device.
Also, it showed, a similar information in a below displayed as follows:
High Definition Audio Device has a driver problem Not fixed
Reinstall device driver Completed
I`ve clicked on the problem link and it showed the device information:

As it didn`t work, I followed the step 2.
However it also didin`t work. I have only one audio device, and it is properly setted as default.
I had already previously done steps 3 and 4 without success, and I did them again, but with no better luck.
When I try to update the software searchin automatically, I get a message from windows saying that my software device is up to date.
I would like to uninstall and reinstall it. It`s the only I can think that I didn`t do. But I`m not sure about what is this particular driver. As I previously said, I did what David suggested, but reinstalling the IDT Audio Device fixed the problem just temporally.
Moreover, Lisa`s code post gave me an consistent outcome, that I should reinstall the software.
So, if there is a different a different audio software for the High Definition Audio Device that I could uninstall and reinstall I would really like to give a try. If there is such a audio software I probably will have the following questions:
How do I know the right software for my computer? What steps should I follow to reinstall without damaging my computer?
Still a muted thanks,
Luiz
