This may also explain why SmartMenu won't install as it requires at least 1 other MediaSmart program to be already installed.

First of all, if HP MediaSmart SmartMenu is listed in Programs and Features, uninstall it and restart the notebook.

Then download and install the following.

HP MediaSmart DVD.

HP MediaSmart Music.

HP MediaSmart Photo.

HP MediaSmart Webcam.

HP MediaSmart Movies & Tv.

Last of all, download and install the following.

HP MediaSmart SmartMenu.

When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load for a few minutes before checking.
