I didn't say anything about a need to replace the hard disk.
What were the results of the ESET online scan? Were there any vermin files detected?
What I sad was that the Windows installation has severe issues.
The issues can be resolved by either a repair install or by doing a recovery.
Both of those will use the same disk that is currently installed. It is always better to attempt a repair on current hardware if there are no diagnostic test that have indicated a failure.
A Windows system restore will not help.
