Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums has created a great pro-active post titled: Tips For Providing Great Answers.

 

I would like to thank you for the thoroughness of your post it provided the information needed to help you resolve your audio issue. I am going to recommend that you use the HP Recovery Manager to reinstall the audio driver that originally came with your computer. You can do this by following the instructions provided in the HP Support document: Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7). Before you follow the document to use the HP Recovery Manager you want to ensure you remove the audio driver you currently have installed. You can do this by following the instructions below:

 

Step 1. Click on "Start"

Step 2. Click on "Control Panel"

Step 3. Click on "Device Manager"

Step 4. Click on "Sound, Video and game controllers" 

Step 5. Right-Click on your audio device and choose "Uninstall"

Step 6. Follow the steps in the document I provided to install your original audio drivers.
