Hi, author of the original issue submission here.

Two(?!) years ago I submitted this issue, and I've finally solved it. Yup.

A friend accidentally spilled water on my HP laptop and forced me to buy a new one.

So instead of going with HP, I went with Samsung. All of a sudden, my issue with the speakers playing while my headphones were plugged in was solved.

I can now enjoy listening to music and watching videos in public. All by ditching HP.

Thanks for nothing, HP support. And good riddance.
