Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j013ea and the headphone being too loud. Here is a fix from Microsoft that might help. Open the Playing Audio troubleshooter by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Hardware and Sound, click Troubleshoot audio playback.
