Hey kiwinaris,
I'm sorry you're running into this issue with your mic.
1. Go to the Desktop View and right-click on the Speaker icon in the System Tray.
2. Click on Recording Devices
3. Right-click on Internal Microphone and click Properties
4. Try the following changes one at a time to see which one is the culprit.
- Listen tab - make sure Continue running when on battery power is selected.
- Levels tab - make sure the levels are all the way up.
- Effects tab - if the Disable System Effects box is checked, uncheck it and vice versa.
- Advanced tab - change quality to Studio Quality. Check both checkboxes 'Allow applications to take exclusive control' and 'Give exclusive mode applications priority'
5. Click Apply and test each of those changes. Let me know the results when you get a chance :)
