I have the EXACT same model and, of course, the EXACT same problem. One of your online chat advisors told me it was a hardware fault, having failed to find the problem. It's clear, from even a cursory check of chat forums etc, that this is a relatively common problem. Which is VERY annoying, because it seems that companies have such problems with their products and avoid doing anything about it.
If I had know about this I, of course, would not have purchased HP.
The fix offered above is useless to me, the machine is only a few weeks old and there are no drivers to rollback to.
Right now I am actively advising everyone I encounter to not touch HP products, because if you can let problems like this exist and do nothing, your products are not worth trusting.
