Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion g7 and not being able to hear the volume correctly. Here is a fix from Microsoft.
Try opening Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. In Device Manager, locate the Sound, and then double-click the device AMD High Definition Audio Device. Click the Driver tab, and then click Rollback Driver. Then do the same to High Definition Audio Device. Restart the computer.
