When you opened the document on Webcam Troubleshooting Windows 8( in my previous post), under the section for"Webcam is not seen in Device Manager", if after following those steps, it is still not seen after the scan, and it is still not found after the restore, then it may have become unplugged inside or requires servicing. If the external Webcam is working then I believe it must be the internal, Webcam. If you feel comfortable , you can check inside the computer, to see if the cable has become disconnected or damaged. With Windows 8 you have a built in troubleshooter you can use for issue like these.
Press the Windows key +C to open charms
Type troubleshoot ( and the issue, ex sound) and follow the prompts.
