Hi everyone,
I have a Hp Pavilion dv6 running Windows 7, here is the rest of the information:
Here are the audio drivers (Also had Beats Audio but removed it to see if it would help):
Problem
So the problem is that the day before yesterday the audio was working completely fine on my laptop and the next day it just stopped outputing from my computer through the laptop speakers, speakers, headphones etc.
But the weird thing is that when i am playing a song through the computer on any type of media player it still shows that the sound is being played:
So it is detecting the audio, but not outputing through anything so that the sound can actually be heard.
I have looked up so much on how to try and fix this problem without any luck so far.
Things I Have Tried
- I have checked to see if it is something simple like the sound being on mute.
- The amount of times i have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers for the "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" is beyond this world, still with no effect on the sound at all.
- I Have made sure that nothing has been muted on the mixer.
- I have selected the "speakers and Headphones" as the default device:
- I have even tried using system restore to go back ot the date of which it was working but has no effect.
- I have checked that nothing is muted on the media applications which play the music.
- I have disabled "Beats Audio" to try and see if that was the problem, unfortunately is wasnt.
- I have tried shutting down, restartng and leaving it turned off overnight.
Solutions Please?
So i have tried a few methods to try and fix this but they all seem to have no effect. Starting to wonder if it might be a hardware issue such as the headphone jack not working or the soundcard going faulty.
It is getting a wee bit frustrating because I am a music producer and the only thing i need to work 100% is the sound haha.
If anyone has any suggestions to get this audio working again it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
:)
