Envy 17 subwoofer not detected

Hi, I recently bought a new HP Envy 17 with Beats audio. Although, I've never got to get the subwoofer to work. I've searched accross multiple threads and tried a lot of different things but at the end, the subwoofer still won't work. I know this is a problem for a lot of people and it would be great if HP could fix it. I have windows 8
