Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Notebook and not able to install updates. Here is a link to Microsoft fix it. If you are running virus protection you might want to disable it while you do the install. Try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started. Restart the computer after this step and try installing again.
