Let's start by making sure that your speakers are set as the default audio device. In your Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers you should see your audio device. Let me know if you have any yellow exclamation marks and if so let me know the name of the device and then right click it and let me know what it says under Device Status. Also try running the Microsoft FixIt tool for audio issues.
