I have a headset that has a microphone. I have used this headset on various computers and phones without issue. Here are the problems:
1) When I plug in the headset into the headset/mic plug-in, the internal microphone will still pick up noise. If I mute the headset microphone, the internal microphone will pick up noise. There seems to be no way to have the headset microphone override the internal microphone.
2) When I have the headset plugged in, SOME sound will come through the headset, and SOME sound will come through the computer speakers.
In both of these cases, it should be a simple solution:
headset plugged in: ALL SOUND/VOICE goes through the headset
headset not plugged in: sound/voice uses the internal mic and speakers
I should NOT have to manually go in and disable speakers and mics when I want to use the headset. It should be automatic.
This really isn't difficult and is how every other computer I have used works. It is NOT working on this brand new laptop.
