I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion 15 Notebook and sound issues with having the headphone plugged in. Here is a link you could try right-clicking the speakers icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar, and then click Playback devices. On the Playback tab, click headphones . Click Set Default, and then click OK. Please make sure you try the headphones on another device just to check them.
