Thanks for advice - unfortunately no joy!
I got as far as 'sound audio and game controllers' but there was no + sign, just a right pointing triangle. I clicked on this which brought up the list:
>AMD High definition audio device
>Bluetooth Hands-free Audio
>CyberLink WebCam Virtual Driver
>IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
When I double click on volume icon I have the options
> 1- digital display audio
> Sounds speakers and headphones
>communications headphones.
Don't know where to go from there.
