I tried the CC cleaner, no luck in fixing the sound problem
To come to your suggestion, say i recover and then Windows performs the updates as required, which it will - then what are the chances that this issue will happen again?? im guessing this will most likely repeat because as i said earlier I havent installed too many 3rd party softwares that could possibly have caused this issue.
