Laptop (dv7-6143cl) has I7 processor and Windows 7. Also, has the extended capacity battery which causes the laptop to be elevated in the rear. Was purchased 2 years prior to this post. In the past week, the laptop has become overheated twice on the left rear near the cooling fan exhaust. In both cases Windows 7 crashed and the laptop froze. Upon restarting the computer after it had cooled Windows 7 posted the standard error screen saying that an unexpected error had occurred. In both cases I restarted the operating system normally and the laptop functioned correctly. Also, the exhaust fan appeared to be blowing air properly. **Do I need to have the laptop serviced? If it is running OK when I take it in I not sure what that will accomplish. Any suggestions will be appreciated. jdg2687
