Re: Hp dv7 sound issues, CPU usage high, slowing computer, Idt Audio and Dot net causing sound issue

Ok decided to try out diffrent operation systems again, to see if the problem is localized to Windows 7 professional. Tried out XP Corprate Edition 64bit first again. Sound still works no problem but after 4 hrs of trying to find a driver for the video card I have to come to the grim conclusion that there is no working driver for XP 64 for this particular chipset for the video card. (Shame too I like simple and clean systems like xp 64) Next Tried out Windows 8 Professional. Found out that Windows 8 comes with 4.5 dot net installed and not 2.0 or 3.5 which is the exact oppisite of Windows 7 pro. (I think that is Windows 7 running on dot 2.0 caused more than one problem...for many people) Ati catalyst didn't install at first because it runs on dot net 2.0 but it didnt tell that at startup but I know it from previous installs. Also found out that 2.0 and 3.5 MUST be downloaded by internet connection. (Stupid... If you have a corprate structure you use standalone installers, not force every computer in the infastructure to use the internet) I tried my standalone installer only to find it saying it needed dot net from the internet to run the installer...(Cute) Sound works normal after the install of dot net 2.0 and 3.5. Sound started up with xbox music app. (No more media player! Yea!) Ran WAV file and the CPU usage didn't spike to 44% anymore. So the problem is definately localized to Windows 7. (Also durring the problem the CPU would run on all 8 CPU's this one barely spikes on 1 CPU like it should.) I'll try and run a game and see if it runs alright, if so I think I'll stick with this operation system unless more incompatibility issues come up. I'm pretty tired of messing with windows 7 anyways. Not that Windows 8 doen't have its headaches (Whoever thought that removing the startup menu was a good is wrong, maybe for tablets but not for PC's or laptops. Had to download Classic shell to fix the problem.) I'm even thinking about deleting that backup of windows 7 I made with Acronis if this continues to work alright.
