Re: Headphones plugged in, but speakers are still playing sound --Pavillion dv5 notebook

I'm having this issue, but mysteriously only with Itunes. Audio plays only through my headphones on YouTube, etc. but with Itunes it plays through both the speakers and the headphones. I've set Speakers/Headphones as my deault device from the sound panel but that hasn't solved the problem, and there's only one audio jack on my computer. I have a Pavilion dm4 laptop (the product number is A6X71UA#ABA).

The sound setting on my computer currently look like this: sound settings.png

and I don't see a way to separate the speakers from the headphones. Itunes doesn't seem to have a sound settings page, and I've already checked for sound driver updates and there aren't any. Any ideas how to fix this?

ETA: BIOS # is F.0B and I can't find the driver number, but it's labeled IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

ETA 2: It seems that now audio doesn't work at all (either through headphones or speakers) from internet browsers, despite the fact that the volume is on.

ETA 3: I disabled and then reenabled "Communications Headphones", and now Itunes plays solely through the headphones but Internet audio (youtube, netflix, etc. ) is still not functioning.
