HP Envy 17 unsatisfactory subwoofer

Hi all,

I have just bought an envy 17-j010el in Italy from the seller "Monclick". The laptop has the Beats Audio technology but when reproducing music I can notice some generalized buzzes and a very poor performance on low frequencies. In general an unpleasant sound, especially on high volumes.

I have got another HP laptop (dv7-6199sl) also with Beats Audio technology but on low frequencies the result is definitely better than my new envy 17.

I also tried with a frequency generator to test the audio performance of the envy 17. After a test on all frequencies I have found that on low frequencies (about 100Hz there is a clear cut of bass sound volume and moreover there are some buzzes.

On middle frequencies (about 500Hz) the speaker on the top-right of the laptop comes in resonance and begins to vibrate and buzz.

In some songs these effects are less pronounced but the overall result is not enough good.

The songs used for testings are

Starless - King Crimson

Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin

Scream and Shout - will.i.am

I would like to know if this problem is a problem of the laptop design or it is specific of my laptop. In that case i will send it back to my seller and buy another identical one.

There is anyone that has got the same problem?

Moreover on my old dv7-6199sl there is an Hp triple bass reflex subwoofer (it is written below it) but in my new envy 17 there should be two subwoofers as advertised but i can see only one grid with the "b" of beats audio. It can be possible that one of the two subwoofers is broken.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance for all partecipations.
