The first time I got this problem was in mid April. It's a HP envy 15 3040NR.
No sound comes out from my laptop, but all the drivers and devices were working properly. I even tried to reinstall the OS, no help. So I sent this laptop to the repair center all the way from Massachusetts to Texas. All the process took about half a month and my laptop was working fine since then. The receipt said they re-assembled the laptop and updated the BIOS.
However, on July 30th, the same issue happened again, so I directly called the repair center and sent the laptop there for the second time. The sound came back when I got it on August 12th. The receipt said again that they re-assembled this laptop and updated the BIOS. They also promised me that the same issue won't happen again.
What drove me crazy is that today, August 17th, only 5 days after I got my laptop back from the repair center, there's no sound again!!!! The symptom is exactly the same as the preceding twice! How can I trust HP anymore? They told me this won't happen again and it's only 5 days! I strongly urge HP to make compensation to me for the simple reason that they broke their promise! What if this happens the forth or even fifth time? Although I know it's free to send the laptop to repair within the warranty, I can't use this laptop for two weeks each time I send it to repair! It's a huge loss because I'm a music producer and songwriter! Each time my composition will be suspended for two weeks and I can't finish the song when my inspiration is interrupted during the repair time!
What's more, when my laptop runs out of warranty next Feburary, and if this problem keeps disturbing me, I have to pay lots of money to repair it! HP must be responsible for it!
Today I called the repair center again with anger. They said they will replace the motherboard of this laptop if I send this laptop this time and they made that absurd promise again that it won't happen anymore. Why should I trust those repair technicians? Who knows whether changing a motherboard will solve this issue permanently? What I really need is to replace or return this {Content Removed} laptop, because it really bothers me and irritate me!
I'm extremely unsatisfied with HP customer support and won't recommend anyone to buy a HP laptop anymore if they don't consent my replacing&returning request or if this audio defect happens again. I do admit that this Envy 15 laptop is awesome despite the audio defect. I don't want HP to lose its customer and market share. So please do sth for your reputation of the brand!
