Probook 6550b lagging while loading audio

Hello,

I have a strange and frustrating problem on my HP ProBook 6550b.

When I first bought it, everything went fine, but few months ago I've noticed a major problem.

The laptop runs smoothly and overall fine, but it hangs for a few seconds every time it's about to play a new sound.

I mean, when running a game where sound effects are played repeatedly, the first time the sound is about to appear, the computer freezes for 2-4seconds. When it plays that same sound second, third and more times, there is no lag. The problem occurs with EVERY sound played FIRST time since system bootup. It proves really frustrating in games or buffered videos, since videos hang for a moment every 10-15 seconds, and games freeze almost constantly during first 20 minutes of gameplay.

I didn't change anything in the PC. Don't install games often, and work in Office suite most of the time.

My laptop is HP ProBook 6550b.

I'm running Win7 Pro x64 and recently did a full flush using the built-in recovery partition to try and solve the problem. So now I've got a clean, HP-branded win7 which was bundled with this PC.
