Re: Headphones won't connect properly

Unfortunately it didn't help very much. My headphones' plug is four-pin, but the headphones and their microphone worked perfectly on my older HP Pavillion but not on this one. The headphones still keep unplugging from the computer too easily and it still doesn't register that my headphones have a microphone attached.

I'd like you to follow this document: HP PCs - Resolving microphone problems (Windows 10, 8)

No Audio in notebook

Hi anyone,
Just upgraded my dv2615nr laptop from vista to win 7 32 bit, though its 64 bit capable. I have installed all drivers but i have no audio or audio device visible in the device manager. Looked for the hardware in the unknown device tab but found nothing. Audio driver cannot install since no hardware device is detected.
Nothing seems to work 😞.
Need help. Lots of it

I have contacted HP support by phone and no one could lead me to any solution.

They just said they will report the problem i highlighted, and that trying to send it to assistance would probably not fix the issue, so if i can i should just return it. I think this is a bit ridiculous.

Btw i'm just wondering if this is a problem related to some pieces or to the model itself...

Fullscreen crashing programs or downgrading preformance

When making an app fullscreen, various negative affects happen. I will post a list of what they are below:

SERVICE                                 PROBLEM

Netflix (App)                        Crash with varrying error codes.

Netflix (Website)                More frequent buffer/pixilation in video. Also, a

green colour slowly fills the screen for seconds

Xbox Streaming                 Video runs at half speed, audio is chopped up.

When windowed, it immediatly corrects itself.

Hulu                                         Works fine, no known problems after four

                                                  months of use.

YouTube                                A green colour fills the screen, starting with

shadows or blacks, and then expanding with

                                                  movement of the camera.

I have already tried to combat the situation by updating my computer with Windows Update, and the Device Driver panel, but for video drivers it says that I'm all up to date. I find that rather unlikely, since this computer is about a year old and this is the first time I've run the software in months.

Re: Random internal beeping

Hi Mrstenter,

I have tried resetting the BIOS as well as updating the BIOS with its latest updates, but the beeping still occurs.

Similarly, the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool only found one issue - 'service registration is missing or corrupt', which it was unable to fix. I'm unsure of whether it's a related issue, as I've actually had a couple of other small issues with the laptop, but I was unable to fix it manually.

If you have any other suggestions, I would appreciate it! However, thanks for your help so far.

HP Envy Notebook No Audio in speakers after windows 10 update

Hi

I am currently running windows 10 on my notebook. It was working well but suddenly the sound is gone after an update. I'm running 1511 Version.

I have tried to update the driver, Change sound setting, Troubleshoot but of no avail. Once I restart I get sound for 10 min and then it disappers without touching the laptor. It seems probably when the Fan turns on then the problem arises.

Can you please help me with this. I'm having a lot of problem because of this issue.

Re: No sound on my laptop after windows 10 update!

Don't konw if it will help, but our new laptop with Windows 10 suddenly stopped making any noise through the speakers.

The set up is very simple - la[top connected to the LAN via a cable with a second display - a Dell E177FP monitor.

On digging around I found that Windows 10 has somehow decided that audio playback should be directed to the display monitor.  So there was no sound.

Changing the defauld playback device to the internal speakers meant that we now have sound again.

10-k020ns combo jack microphone issue

$

Good Afternoon,

I noticed that my Pavilion x2 10-k020ns (Windows 10 32 Bit Home Edition) does not detect any Mic I plug into the jack connector.

I've tried with several different headsets (even the ones included with cellphones), and I manage to hear the PCs audio from the headset but the mic does not work.

If I plug the same headsets into a different laptop or cellphone, both audio and mic work perfectly.

I could not try with a different laptop with Windows 10 installed, just tried with Windows 7 ones, that's why I suspect it may be an OS problem too.

Could yo please provide me any advise on what I could do in order to solve this? I use Skype frequently and the built-in mic is OK but has not the quality needed for some types of calls.

Thanks

P.S: Built-in Mic works perfectly. The moment I plug in a headset built in mic stops working but headset mic does also not work. The moment I plug out the headset the built-in mic starts working again as expected.

Hi ,

Welcome to the HP Forums! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

Thank you for posting. I have read your post, and I understand that one of your speakers sounds lower than the other. I wanted to help.

Have you tried to adjust the sound balance in settings? If your headphones are working well, it should be the problem of the built-in speakers hardware. You could also test the external speakers on other devices to see if they have the same problem.

Let me know how it goes.
