I understand the notebook appears to randomly mute. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I will do my best to assist you!
To troubleshoot the issue, I would uninstall and reinstall the sound driver. To uninstall it properly:
1. Go into Device Manager. Click on Sound, video and game controllers.
2. Right-click on the sound driver(s), take note of the names of the driver(s), and click Uninstall.
3. Restart the computer. This should reinstall the correct audio driver(s).
