Catalyst Control Center Launcher starts and then fails (chronic). I have a 6 month old laptop. It has 5 SP updates, and the CLI5 start (this launcher) fails over and over. The HP Support site has 7 articles pertaining to this issue, 4 of which have identical topic titles (but DIFFERENT SP releases).
So, I think it is inherently bad engineering to have to reinstall ALL the updates AGAIN, in release/number order; the control center or HP Assistant recommended the updates, which I installed. So this is like DLL Hell all over again, because I have rebuilt my machine (reinstalled the OS from the virtual drive and then followed all the updates using the HP Control Center...which is now broken. Pathetically, I did this twice in the past month, and I cannot see doing it again!!!
The (AMD) Catalyst Control Center fails repeatedly. HP Support shows 4 articles with identical titles that pertain to SP downloads, which appear in the list in no logical SP order. Each ppurportedly "fixes drivers" and one of the is missing from the list of SPs I have downloaded and installed. Users need more specific info, i.e., maybe I need to download/install ALL the SPs in release order? IUnfortunately, no information about UNINSTALLING a "newer update" to accommodate a dropped update in the chain of releases. I have downloaded and installed the following SPs (most recent first): 62316, 61231, 60936, 59620, 58915, 55082. But one, (SP59619) is not in my list. Could this be the cause of the AMD CLI5 app/dashboard failing?
