Got an odd problem with an HP DV7 4045ea
Bought it as spares or repair, needed HDD and base plastics. Nice fresh install of windows 7 64 bit, installed drivers from hp website - only no sound from internal speakers. headphone jack works fine. This was six months or so ago.
Have lived with it until tonight. Then my 12 year old nephew comes to stay, and i hear sound coming from it for a few seconds..... Typical! He points out that if you click on the speaker icon on the taskbar, it opens two sliders, one speaker volume and the other the headphone volume. If you click on the headphone slider the speakers work for two seconds. If you tap tap tap the slider the sound stays on lol (until you stop tapping)....
Just tried uninstalling reinstalling IDT codecs and the two previous versions from hp, and still the same. Im stumped any ideas welcome.
