if you right click where it says no recording devices does it give the option to show hidden devices? If so unhide and enable it.

It's Windows 8 64 bit. And no, there's nothing abnormal in the device manager. It shows the audio but still I don't have anything in my sounds settings; no mic, no speakers, no stereo mix.
