Re: Crackling/Popping sounds on Windows 10

I've been having this issue for a few months now (HP 550-111na Desktop). Tried all the suggestions here, including the most recent one made, without resolution.

I am desperate for someone to help me to resolve it. I tried a few "tech" sites, but they have drawn a blank each time. I'm not even sure if it's an issue specific to HP PC's or if it's a Windows 10 issue. I'd rather not revert back to Windows 7, as much as I loved that OS.

Speakers work Headphones won't

My orgainization uses HP almost exclusively and while the Folio 9470's were rockstars the 9480's not so much.  I have had this particluar issue now with 3 different devices.  One of those has already been sent back to HP for "repair".  That "repair" supposedly included "extensive testing" but when I got the device back headphone still wouldn't work.  Not until I updated the bios that is.  So here we are again with this device where if you use the built in speaker the sound works great.  When you plug in a known good working headset you have no sound at all.  Sending the device back to HP support might be the only answer but before I inconvience this executive again with that I wanted to find out if anyone else had found a solution for this.

Hi @ajaysinh,

Thank you for posting at HP Forums!

I came across your post about needing the driver for brightness control. I want to help.

Here is the link of the drivers: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-g6-1300-Notebook-PC-series/5186808/model/5208238

Select the appropriate OS on the page.

Download the graphic driver as shown in your device manager, and update it.

Hi @dhiman33,

Welcome to HP Forums!

I have read your post and wanted to help. I understand that when you plug in the earphones, three options on the settings grayed out. Did this happen at the beginning or it showed up after a Windows Update?

Keep me posted. Have a good day!

My hp 15-1233wm laptop / notebook has been a nightmare since I received it from Walmart.

It crashes, freezes takes forever to upload any webpage or scroll email

Not sure if it's the device or Windows 10 but in addition to the annoying touch screen wannabe desk top wasting hours of time trying to find everything that is now unfamiliar..

The sound is so quiet I can't hear anything when cars drive past my window.

So I found external speakers I intended to use but discovered there is only an insert for headphones that doesn't work with speakers. UNBELIEVABLE

Does anyone know a solution for no speaker jack ?

The same thing happened to me and I checked the forums, and all the online help i could find but non of it was a solution.  I did however find an old video that does help with this problem at first it will look like it won't help because its an older version and a slightly different problem that they were going through but watch the whole video and do exactly as he does and I garuntee the problem will be fixed.

They need to make it so that you can upload the steps recorder files.  I did it then relized i couldnt upload the file so i had to take screenshots of everything i did.  They also need to add more available file upload space because i had to do the solution in 2 seperate posts

Here are the specs:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04936059

This is a very low-end computer with a very limited processor. It is not hard to understand why it is slow. I try to speak out about these "budget" computers. The problem is that nobody will pay an honest price for computers so they can be made with good components and the people that make them be paid a living income. But that is for another day.

The audio jack is a headphone/microphone combo and needs a 3.5 mm dual band connection

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/HP-ENVY-15-Only-1-input-hole-for-both-Audio-in-and-Audio-out/td-p/226179

You can get an adapter like this and it turns your dual band port into separate ports for a regular speaker jack and a microphone only jack:

Hi There!

Thanks for reaching out. This issue is there from the start. Updating sound drivers and Windows 10 didn't fix the issue.

Thanks,

Dhiman

Re: HP Envy Sleekbook audio buttons (Play/Pause, Next ) wont work. Other hotkey buttons work fine

Roughly a week ago I began using Google Play music and the media control aspect of my function keys (F6 to rewind, F7 to play/pause, F8 to skip) stopped working for iTunes. Instead, they work only with Google Play via the website tab. I did not tell Google Play to access these controls but it did so all the same. How do I fix this issue?

I can still control brightness with F2 or F3 and none of the other function keys have become inoperable.

I'm using an HP Envy m6

OS: Windows 10 Home

Processor: Intel Core i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz

RAM: 8 GB (7.9 GB usable)

System type: 64-bit OS, x64 based processor

Product ID: 00326-10000-00000-AA843

Thanks!

I apologize for being a bit of a newbie on the subject, but I'll try my best to explain.

I'm trying to get my Beats Audio to work on Linux.  I found a way that has worked for some people which involves remapping certain audio pins, but I don't know what pins to map to what.  Here are the pins that show up for me:

Hi:

See if installing the audio driver directly from Realtek resolves the audio issue.

Accept the agreement.  Download and install the 2nd driver on the list.
