,
Thanks for posting again in the HP community. It is a pleasure to have you back and I am delighted to assist you here. Fabulous description of the issue and great technical competence have been displayed. Kudos to you for that.
- Did this occur after a recent power outage or surge?
- Did it occur after a software or Windows update?
- Did you check if stereo mix is enabled?
For now, try these steps:
Check if the headset is in mono mode or stereo mix mode b following directions from this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd3moKLV5sE (How to Get or Enable Stereo Mix on Windows 10)
This is a youtube video and a third party link. So ignore the ads and don't click on anything else.
Now check if the issue gets resolved after enabling stereo mix.
If it continues or stereo mix is not enabled, then perform these steps:
- Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand sound video and game controllers>then select the sound drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the audio drivers. Then check the box delete the software for this device.
- Then restart the computer and update the bios, chipset and audio drivers from this link:http://hp.com/drivers and follow the onscreen instructions.
- The stereo mix should be a part of this audio driver. package for both the earpieces to work.
- If the issue continues, then the audio port is faulty as it is not working properly with multiple headsets.
I will send you a private message to assist you with the next course of action. Check your forum private message box in the upper right corner next to the bell icon.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. :)
