Stopped working after I installed the "Dolby Atmos" app/extension. Did as instructed, works as described. Thank you.

I tried taking it out but it isn't a broken jack. Seems like a hard plastic button almost. Didn't want to break it off in there if it is a cover or something.

HP Envy x360 Audio Extremely Low

$

When I first bought my laptop, the audio was fine. I'm just now noticing that the audio will "waver". On a good day, I can hear the audio on 30%. Now, I can barely hear it on 100%. Sometimes the quality of the audio will change while I'm listening to something (it will go from very loud to barely hearable in a matter of minutes). I've reset my laptop a couple of times, but nothing has worked. I also ran the test to see if anything was wrong with it, and the laptop passed the audio test.

I have seen other posts like this, but the "solutions" are very unclear. Some have said to delete some drivers, but I don't which ones to delete and how to make sure that I can reinstall them safely without messing up my laptop. I'm a college student, so I rely heavily on my laptop. I have the Bang & Olufsen audio, if that helps.

Thank you

no sound devices after doing update

The HP Support Assistance said I needed to update the BIOS. I clicked on their link and performed the update. Rebooted my laptop and found that I no longer had any sound. Did the usual test, and it says that there is no sound device installed. Checked the device manager, and sound wasn't even listed. Did the virtual sound test and it said no speakers or microphone. Everything worked great until I did this update. Obviously, I can't check to see if the sound driver is up to date since there is no sound devices installed. Did check to see if Windows 10 and BIOS are up to date - and the answer was yes. How do I get back my sound????

That probably due to Windows updates. Re-install driver should help. Please try

(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

    https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp88001-88500/sp88218.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

Regards.

Delay of sound on earphones

Hello,

I have an issue with my computer's earphone jack (HP Pavilion Laptop 15-ck0xx). I just bought this computer. I have installed windows 10 and updated all drivers.

The situation is, I watch a video on youtube (or a video from my desktop it does not matter) and sometimes I stop it and do something else. But when I resume the video, the display is playing but the voice is not. After 2 or 3 seconds later,  the voice starts too. This situation does not occur on computers speaker and when I play a new video. Only with earphones or if I stop the video.

I do this a lot so it is really annoying. I have to take the video a few seconds back and replay the video.

I am waiting for your respond,

thanks,

HP Elitebook 8760W won't install IDT audio drivers, not in device manager.

I recently installed Windows 10 on my HP Elitebook 8760W and it has been working perfectly for me so far, with all the drivers installing and me encountering no issues except for the audio drivers. I have already tried using Windows 8.1 drivers and there's *no* IDT audio device in Device Manager. yosyos.png

I hope you all will be able to help me with my issue.

Unfortunately, this is not a solution. This a workaround. A solution that would solve the problem would be better. This works until the update comes.

Other possibility is that some settings on your Audio is telling that the output is not an LINE OUT (normal) but LINE IN.

Banhein,

Thank you for your response. I followed your directions exactly, with the exception of step (b) uninstall sound driver. When I go to device manager  - there is NO sound listed at all - absolutely nothing, no heading, no devices, no subtitles, etc. Unfortunately, downloading the file you provided didn't resolve the problem. It still states I have no microphone, speakers, or any sound device. Device manager still shows nothing mentioning sound anywhere. Honestly, this is very frustrating as it worked well yesterday before I did the requisite update. Any other suggestions?

Bang and Olufsen Audio Drivers missing

After a windows 10 update, the drivers for Bang and Olufsen speakers are missing. There is a problem in switching audio to a Bluetooth speaker. The HP laptop drivers and software does not offer this driver.
