Re: I'm getting a loud static noise on my HP laptop - HELP!!!

At the advise of the HP support, I took my laptop to the nearby HP service center.  After checking, they discovered that this is a problem with the motherboard.   To resolve this, you just gotta replace it.

For me, this is a 3 year old laptop bought at about $1200.  Replacing the mother board would run approx. $500.  Nowadyas, the price of laptops that fit my needs are about $1000 or so.  After further consideration and recommnedation from the service center - it's decided that the best option is just to live with it until I get another one to replace this.

Hope this helps you make a decision about next steps.

Need to disable B&O so that I can run Realtek

I need to disable the B&O audio control or uninstall it somehow so that I can use the realtek HD audio manager instead.

Everytime I try to run rtkngui64, it opens up B&O instead. I've treid numerous other solutions on here, such as updating the driver, using autoruns, etc. but I am still stuck with B&O opening.

How can I finally get Realtek to open instead?

How can I switch out the Omen Audio Control: 158711i13FF3804EE4332D7.jpg

for the Realtek Audio Manager:

The Omen Audio Control has almost no customization and lends terrible sound. The Realtek Audio Manager has many settings and includes an EQ.

Thanks in advance!

Hi! , Welcome to HP forums.

I understand the internal speakers on the PC has stopped functioning.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

Try updating the BIOS and audio drivers on the PC and check if it helps.

You can update the drivers on the PC using HP support assistant.

Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.

Try the steps recommended below.

Go to Windows Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers section.
In the list of audio device drivers, look for Realtek or IDT High-Definition Audio. This is the device driver for BeatsAudio (a little bit sneaky, wouldn’t you say?).
Right-click and select Disable. The downward arrow displays on this driver, indicating it is disabled. (NOTE: At this point, you won’t be able to play any music files.)
Right-click and select Update Driver Software.
Select Browse my computer for driver software.
Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
You should see a window that says Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. NOTE: If you see a window that says something like This is the best driver for this device, exit the window and repeat steps 4, 5, and 6.
In the Model box, highlight High Definition Audio Device (this is the substitute audio device driver) and click Next.
At the Update Driver Warning window, click Yes. You should see a confirmation window with High Definition Audio Device displayed. Click Close.
In the list of audio device drivers in the Sound, video and game controllers section, you’ll notice that the High Definition Audio Device now displays instead of Realtek or IDT High-Definition Audio.
At the prompt to reboot, click Yes.

If the issue still persists try the steps recommended below.

background intelligent transfer service (BITS) transfers files (downloads or uploads) between a client and server and provides progress information related to the transfers. If the BITS service is turned off, windows update may have problems delivering files to your computer.

Start the BITS service click start, and then click run.

Type services.msc in the open box and then click ok.

Right-click background intelligent transfer service, and then click properties.

On the general tab in the startup type box, click Automatic, and then click apply.

In the service status section of the properties dialog box, verify that the BITS service is started. if it is not started, click start.

Click apply, and then click ok.

Restart the computer.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps try the steps recommended below.

In Windows, search for Command Prompt. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. Then click Yes.
In Command Prompt, type sfc /scannow. Make sure to include the space between sfc and the /.
Press Enter and wait while System File Checker scans for corrupted files.
When scanning is complete, the results are displayed on the screen.
If the file checker found and replaced any corrupted files, restart the computer and check the performance.
If the file checker did not find any corrupted files or found corrupted files but could not replace them, go to the next step.
If System File Checker finds corrupted files but cannot replace them, use the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool. DISM checks the corrupted files; then downloads and replaces the files using Windows Update.
In Windows, open a web browser.
   NOTE:
You need to be connected to the Internet to use DISM.
In Windows, search for Command Prompt. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. Then click Yes.
In Command Prompt, type dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth. Make sure to include the space before each / in the command line.
Press Enter and wait while DISM works. This might take several minutes.
If DISM finds corrupted files, it replaces them using Windows Update. If this occurs, after DISM is finished, restart your computer and see if the performance has improved.

If the issue still persists try running a system diagnostics test from your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

Refer this article to know more information about running system diagnostics on your PC.

Let me know if this works!

Have a great day! :)

BlueTooth Audio disrupts when Wifi id enabled

I have great audio playing local music-files from my laptop using a Bluetooth connection to my B&O Beolit 15 - as long as the network access from the laptop is disabled.  When I switch on the network (WiFi), the sound is disrupted every now and then.

My Iphone 4 can stream audio from the wifi to the Beolit in the same surroundings without problems, so it cannot be a question of envirionmental noise.

My guess is that the laptop gives priority to handling the wifi over handling the bluetooth audio, and thus the bluetooth audio disrupts due to starvation.

Can anyone give me a hint on how to solve this problem?

(Yes, I could just keep on disabling the network access, but I would like to be able to stream live audio from the internet rather that local files only)

I've been getting an audible static buzz from the laptop's (HP Envy 13) speaker. Everything is up to date in both windows update and the HP support app, and I've tried reinstalling audio drivers but the noise is still there. The noise persists even when sound is completely muted in windows.

Any help would be great, thanks.
