Thanks for your help but I have solved it.
All it required was a hard reset and I will be sure to keep that in mind the next time.
Many Thanks for trying to help out.

Hi,
Try the following.
Download the Conexant HD Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80001-80500/sp80328.exe
When done, hold down the Windows key and press R
Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
In Device Manager, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the Conexant device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click on the Conexant installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let windows fully load for a few minutes before checking.

I sent my HP ENVY x360 - 15z-ar000 CTO (ENERGY STAR) laptop in to be repaired a month ago now. I was getting email updates at first explaining how sincerely sorry they were that it was not yet repaired but from the email you could clearly see that it was computer generated! I have no problem with my repair, but, I should not have to call in after a notification of a ship date to find out that the ship date has changed! The whole idea of notifications by email is to keep a customer "in the loop" and customer service/repair has fallen WAY short of that. Also, if there was some details on the repair notification about the repair itself that would be greatly appreciated. We may not all be "tech savy" but, I also know that this is not a majic box that I have sent in for repair! I mean, if I send it in for a "no sound" issue, tell me that the entire motherboard must be changed, not just the speaker, and thats why it may be taking longer! Even if the customer doesn't know what you are referring to, at least give them that chance to figure it out! Don't just send a computer generated email with some new ship date that will come and go! I would appreciate a more reliable product OR at the very least better customer service when the less reliable product is sent in for repair!

Thank you for your reply.
However, When I search my desktop model and choose drivers for my model. Drivers are only shown for Windows 7 and 8.
But my PC model (HPE_510t) was purchased before 2013 and I have upgraded to Windows 10 Pro.
But I still downloaded the most recent audio BEATS driver for Windows 8: See below what I downloaded
HP Pavilion Elite HPE-510t CTO Desktop PC
IDT High Definition Audio Driver: sp70787.exe
Windows 8 : 64-bit
File size: 17.1 MB
After downloading and installing, the sound from the speakers is working and I can even search for the BEATS app in the start menu.
BUT, when I click the BEATS audio icon to setup my audio, nothing happens. My BEATS audio software is not working and I cannot access the BEATS Sound Settings.
ePlease advise.
I bought my A1 refurbished HP laptop today but theres a few problems after the long Windows 10 update, the sound doesn't work whatsoever. Another problem is that the screen randomly flickers every now an then, why is this? How do I fix the audio? Also what headphones do I need as the headphone jack is tiny! Doesn't fit any normal set of earphones, where do I get this from to fix? Thanks,
Joe
Thanks @DVortex.
I have followed the steps you provided. It's working so far, but I'd like to test it for a few more days before calling it a success. I'll report back then.

UPDATE:
Troubleshooter says the 'generic audio driver' isnt fixed. Help please.
Hi all. I am the one who started this thread. HP phone/chat support was never able to fix my problem. They finally, after many many hours of my life on chat/phone, had me send it to them under 1year warranty support. They reinstalled all the windows software from scratch and updated BIOS as they said bios was corrupt. It seems to work but I have only had it for 2 weeks now. However, I should note that what they did when it was sent in seems to be exactly what I did at home (reinstall the whole windows from scratch and updated BIOS several times per their directions or HP did it via remote access) but the problem resurfaced after a few days when I did it myself. So, I have no idea why it works when HP did it when they physically had the machine.
That said, I only have 2 months of warranty left and if it happens again, I can't go through the pain and time of trying to fix it again only to not succeed. So, I am starting to save now for if (or when) audio/video stops working again and I can tell you this: it will NOT be another HP machine.
Good luck!

I understand that you have an HP ENVY x360 - m6 Convertible series laptop. I read that the speakers only work for a short while. You have to restart the laptop to make the speakers work again. This cycle continues further. You have tried to run the diagnosis and it runs forever without producing any results. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

Yup the audio update after the keylogger issue really lowers the volume. Same for the one through Windows update. I removed and reinstalled the original one that came with the computer. Look in the swsetup folder on your drive c:
When i plug in my earphone there is no sound.
i have sound on the speakers but not on my headset.
i was forced to instal windows again with separate drivers
Please help. Thx
